Summer/Fall
2009 Triathlon Training
Triathlon
Coaching and Training by USAT Certified Coaches
Suzanne Coullias & Becky Moody
Sprint Program:
a 12-week program recommended for 1st-timers. Should
have experience in at least 1 of the 3 sports and be
able to swim 100 yards without stopping. Fat Tire or
Road Bikes.
Cost: $290 plus
Annual USAT & race registration . ($250 for returning
athletes)
Training begins on Sunday,
July 19th
Olympic Distance
Program: a 12- week program for
experienced and newer triathletes. Should have completed
at least 1 sprint distance triathlon. Recommended
pre-camp mileage- at least 10 miles per week running, 1
outdoor bike ride of 20 miles or more/week and 2 swims
of at least 750 yards per week.
Cost: $290 plus
Annual USAT & race registration ($250 for returning
athletes)

Triathlon on Sunday, October 11th, 2009.
**NEW**
Half-Ironman
Distance Program: a 16- week program for
experienced triathletes. Should have completed at least
one Olympic distance triathlon. Recommended pre-camp
weekly mileage- at least 10 miles/week running, 2 bike
rides of 1 hour or more, and 2 swims of at least 1000
yards. Trains you for the
Atlantic Coast Triathlon on Saturday, October 3rd, 2009.
Cost: $325 plus
Annual USAT & race registration NOTE: We will be
registering for this race as a group.
Training begins Saturday,

For Returning Athletes or seasoned
swimmers:
“No Pool” option – Half Ironman-16 weeks for $200,
Olympic or Sprint – 12 weeks for $150
Includes:
Daily Training Schedule, 3 classroom Tri-Clinics,
lifeguard-supervised open water swims, coached pool
workouts, structured bike & run workouts, technical
T-shirt, & group camaraderie!
What to expect each
week:
4 workouts each week – includes Tues/Thurs. 6:00am or
Mon/Wed. coached pool workouts, Thurs. 6:00pm workout,
and alternating Sat. and Sun. 7:00am workouts
- Tues/Thurs. 6:00am or Mon/Wed. coached pool
workouts at Fee Avenue Pool in Melbourne
- 3 Tuesday 6:00pm Tri Classroom-style Clinics
w/guest speakers on Nutrition, Injury Prevention,
Strength Training, Sports Psychology
- 3 Tuesday 6:00pm Bike Specific Workouts
- Weekly Thurs 6:00pm Run or Open Water Swim & Run

*All workout locations are
close to the Eau Gallie and Melbourne Causeways, most of
them beachside from Indian Harbor Beach to Melbourne
Beach, with the exception of 1 weekend bike workout in
Palm Bay, 1 weekend bike workout in Suntree and 1 Thurs.
